A Spoonful of Trust

Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

“ Trust in metformin side effects 500mg the Lord with all your heart” means you trust God with ALL of your heart, without a shadow of a doubt, whole, and undivided. That deep within your core, in any situation you have surpassed, facing, and will soon encounter, you believe in your core that God is up to something good because He is good. What is trusting in God mean for you today?

“Lean not on your own understanding”, a famous slogan states “follow your heart” but have you ever found yourself being misled by your heart? The Bible says in Jeremiah 17:9The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? that the heart is deceitful. When emotions are unguarded, dawdling, and unbridled, it makes us believe the untrue and move us to do things we shouldn’t. One of the worst responses is for us to go ahead of God because we find Him not to be doing enough, and we move to do what we perceive as good. But our standard of good is different from God’s.

“In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight” You can trust God with all your heart and still go the wrong way. There is that constant need for us to be guided by God. We can know His will! In fact, He desires for us to know His will! (Jeremiah 29:11-13For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.) That being said, we have to learn to start involving God in our lives—acknowledge him in all we do: in every step, every decision, every emotion, even entrusting to Him everything we hear whether good or bad.

Application:
What does the verse mean to you? To trust God with all your heart and not leaning on your own understanding and to acknowledge him in all your ways and allow Him to make your paths straight? Or plain and simple, what does trusting God mean to you? What makes you not trust Him? What can happen to make you  doubt His hand, His will, and even His heart? Just as how a spoonful makes a difference when we’re sick, so will a “spoonful” of trust.

Trusting God starts by actually trusting Him. To trust God enough to not be afraid to ask Him when you don’t understand instead of doing what your instinct tells you. Trusting God is being ready whether or not He answers your questions and still believing that He is good. And finally, trusting God is laying all your concerns at God’s feet and not even planning to take it back.

Promise: “Trust…and He will make your paths straight .” You can never go wrong with God.

Prayer: “Lord, teach me to trust in you in every way. Lead me to a straight path and never let me fall from my struggles. Amen”
