Show me your love

2 Corinthians 5:14

For Christ’ s love metformin side effects hair loss compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.

What is the greatest thing you have done out of love? Given flowers? Say I love you? Catch a speeding bullet between your teeth? Okay, that was a joke. But honestly, what is the greatest thing you have done for love? If we say that we are God’s children, his love should compel us.

And what does compel mean? Compel means to move out of natural state. A movement that is forced by something so powerful we have no way of fighting against.  That is to be compelled.

As Christians, we should be moved by Christ’s love to move out of our natural state. States of mediocrity, complacency, indifference, to states of excellence, concern. We cannot just say “I love you”, but if we love, we should move, and that movement causes action. Because love requires action. Remember the last time you felt love, wasn’t it because someone did something for you?

I remember a few weeks ago, mom and dad where going through the same cycles of “parental bickering” and I knew it had gone too far. As a kid, I’m sure you can relate, and it sure stinks. But what can you do? Right? Wrong! If the love of Christ exists in your life, it should compel you to do something. Suggestion, maybe you can pray for them (I know I did), or if you are remarkable you could find people to help them, maybe a couples’ retreat (I did that too). Hehe.

Sometimes when you act out of love, it’s the action that counts and leaving the outcome to God. Knowing that you did your part to reach out to a loved one. At the same time. We are reminded that “one died for all” and that One, is Jesus, who with love, was compelled to come to the earth He created and died for us that we may have eternal life with Him in heaven.

Application:
Think of someone you can love this month (March) and how you can show love to that person everyday. Who knows, maybe that person may be changed by god just by seeing your acts of kindness towards them.

Prayer:
Lord, I know I am not the most loving person on this earth you have created, but I pray that I can learn to love, even just one more person, that I will be compelled to go beyond myself for a world that You love. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
